Update September 2014

Early 2014

A lot has happened since the beginning of the year.

The Lord has stretched  me in many ways, but it is all good.

January 2014

I went to a conference in Honduras for my first Central American Conference.
We flew into San Pedro Sula and waited for all the Missions Door staff and then
went onto a town called Tela.

I met other staff members from Missions Door there, Rick Miller, Joaquin Vargas,
Paul Hutton, and George Loring. This is the sending agency I work under.  Its like having
a set of brothers and sisters walking beside you as you walk through this journey.

This was my Spanish Immersion event for the first part of the year.
It was hard being thrown into all Spanish speaking conversations. But, I know God will always be with me.  If I am going to learn to speak fluently in the future I want to continue to look for opportunities to speak Spanish.
The best part was I had my second family surrounding me, the Reyes family.  They are by far a gift God has given me in this ministry.
I was able to talk and get to be able to build new relationships with some of the Central American missionaries.  This was a awesome experience.  I got to hear stories of how they are walking through their journey of being a missionary.

Many new opportunities came up for me to meet with new people 

interested in the Nicaraguan mission. Jacob Meece who was a young man from Kentucky that

went on one of our first missions trip to Nicaragua. He invited us to come and speak at his school, Asbury University. We were able to share our experiences with the Missions Farm Project Class at Asbury.  This was really exciting as we got to meet students pursuing Agriculture Missions.

March

Its now March and I normally go to Nicaragua for a month.  I spent the first 2 weeks doing Spanish Immersion staying with the Reyes family in Chinandega.  This is a small city in Nicaragua about 3 hours from Managua.  I was able to meet many pastors that are involved under Rigoberto's ministry in the Chinandega area.

  My agriculture friend Marco Varlesi and his daughter came and spent 5 days
in Nicaragua with me,  We both are excited about helping to teach the Nicaraguans how to grow food. We worked with Rigoberto Reyes and worked on getting plants started for the next season with seed production. Planting peppers was our first choice as this is something that the people are familiar with.  Then we all agreed planting flowers would be very beneficial.  First it will attract bees to the farm and plus bring beauty back to Nicaragua.

October Trip

October Travels

My missionary travels took me to the big city of San Salvador.

 This city has the influence of American culture as they 

also use our currency there. We then left the big city limits
and traveled to a coffee farm where we met with

the owner.  We got to learn a lot of information about

coffee and the quality of the beans..

Plus we got to drink very good coffee.

We then left there to visit some villages that
Nelson Juarez our missionary to El Salvador
ministers to. He works under Rigoberto Reyes ministry
in Central America.

The plus side of this was after we left the village we went and met with a family who is running a church.  It is in a very dominated Catholic area but people are coming to the church.  They shared with us many different testimonies of situations the Lord has brought people to HIM.
 Good things are happening in El Salvador.

With the leaves starting to change here in the US it 

hard to believe summer is over.  It has been a great

summer full of going on trips and sharing our vision

of Nicaragua with our sponsors.

It so wonderful for God to give us this opportunity of
sharing with so many people.

It is hard to believe just 2 years ago we decided to
accept the calling to go into
International Nicaragua Ministry.

On October 6 we will be in New Jersey at
The Mission Conference with Jackson Baptist Church.
The focus this year is Central America.
Paul Hutton and his wife Janie will also be
attending as he was the Director of Central America.

the Lord would use me in this way.

Mill Creek Church Missions Trip

The New Year 2013

The year of 2013 is off  and to a great start.

I am due to leave for Nicaragua on February 22.

My friend Mari and I will be working on getting

the garden up and running.

March Missions trip to Nicaragua this year.

The team is due to leave on March 11.

The carpentary shop will be begin this month
with a team from New York with
Main Street Baptist Church.
Then in March we have a church coming from
Washington, First Baptist Church.
